Abstract
There is the proverbial tu daal daal main paat paat or one-upmanship scenario with regard to the efforts of the education department in Haryana in conducting exams as these should be versus the way the cheating mafia would have it. Over the years, several methods based on hit and trial strategy have been resorted to, but to no avail. Come the exam season and we see all types of scamsters enter the field; these could be “lone wolfs”, organized gangs, or coaching centres in collusion with whosoever in the long chain covering the process – preparation of question papers, printing, distribution to centres leading finally to students concerned – yields to the temptation and leaks the question paper for some monetary profit or other type of compensation
