This paper investigates how group conspiracy mentality (CM) affects employees’ perceptionof customer-centric supply chain uncertainty and risk (SCUR). The study explores the role of CM in influencing SCUR through social media fake news believability (FNB). Additionally, the interaction effects between CM and customer-deception orientation (CDO) on SCUR were analysed from cognitive dissonance theory. The research utilised a sample of 245 employees from knowledge-intensive industries. The findings indicate that CM can amplify an individual’s perception of SCUR, with FNB acting as a mediator. The study implies that technology plays a significant role in curbing the ill-effects of CM on FNB.
