Abstract

This chapter contains interesting and important accounts of CLE in four South Asian countries – Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Pakistan. These countries deliver a broad range of clinic activities, from mandatory courses to volunteer activities and mooting. Many clinics involve community outreach and are delivered through partnerships with civil society organisations, often with support from external funders, with the aim of becoming catalysts for social change. Some clinics have faced opposition from the practising legal profession and most face funding challenges.
