Abstract
Liz Jackson’s book is a very important and timely contribution in the field of moral education. In contemporary times increasing importance is being given to social and emotional learning in schools for developing civic virtues and moral education. Special curriculum has been developed by various centres, such as the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues at the University of Birmingham, UK. Hence, the primary focus of the book is the politics of educating emotions in schools. Jackson brings in a strong concern for social justice in her critical analysis of the dominant psychological and philosophical approaches to educating emotions.
