There is no denying the fact that research has its value in the life of an academic who teaches in any institution of higher learning. The ocean of knowledge, as Socrates called it, is indeed unfathomable and a teacher must be curious enough to arouse the questioning spirit in his pupils. It is, therefore, appreciable that in India, the higher education institutions now pay regard to scholarship as reflected in the publication of research work and even link it to the promotion of faculty. However, the publication process is not easy. It requires not only a scholarly work, but also deep pockets which is a big problem for the young scholars or even seasoned professors. At the same time, huge contributions going to foreign publishers every year means a big drain on nation’s economy which ought to be addressed
