Abstract
The new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 12th May 2020 is specifically designed to achieve goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2030, that aims at providing an inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting a lifelong learning opportunity for one and all. The first National Policy on Education (NPE) was drafted by the Government of India in 1968 under the leadership of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, while the second education policy was commissioned in 1986 under the governance of Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and which was further revised in the year 1992.
