The UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003) conceptualizes ICH as encompassing "practices, representations, expressions, knowledge, skills" and their associated cultural manifestations that communities identify as their heritage.1 Through this definitional lens, Rumsu's cultural patrimony emerges as a complex tapestry of agricultural wisdom, pastoral knowledge, artisanal craftsmanship, and communal traditions. As indigenous communities navigate the interface between tradition and modernity, the preservation of such intangible cultural heritage presents formidable challenges in contemporary conservation discourse.2 As indigenous communities navigate the complex terrain of development and globalization, their traditional knowledge systems and cultural practices face unprecedented pressures. 3 This research examines these dynamics through an ethnographic investigation of Rumsu's evolving cultural landscape, proposing a methodological framework that reconciles heritage preservation with sustainable development imperatives.
