Abstract

The integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) in smart campuses is revolutionizing higher education by enhancing operational efficiency, improving student experiences, and supporting sustainability goals. IoT technologies enable real-time data collection and analysis, allowing for personalized learning environments, optimized resource management, and improved campus security. This paper explores the various applications of IoT in smart campuses, highlighting its potential to transform academic environments, enhance energy efficiency, and streamline campus management. However, challenges such as data privacy, security risks, and the digital divide must be addressed to ensure equitable access and protection of personal information. Looking toward the future, advancements in AI, 5G, and blockchain will further enhance the capabilities of IoT in educational settings. The implications of IoT in smart campuses present both opportunities and responsibilities, urging institutions to balance innovation with ethical and social considerations.
