Abstract

QoL refers to evaluation of general well-being of an individual. The cross-cultural project of the World Health Organization (WHO) defined QoL as “an individual’s perception of their position in life, in the context of the culture and value systems in which they live, and in relation to their goals, expectations, standards, and concerns” (WHOQOL Group 1996, p. 1404). QoL has further been regarded as a complex and multidimensional concept that is an amalgamation of diverse biological, psychological, as well as socioeconomic parameters (Ghosh 2015).
