Abstract
Transitioning towards low carbon solutions is imperative for mitigating climate change. As low carbon development gains prominence on the global sustainability agenda, the utilization of IoT holds promise in addressing carbon emissions challenges. This paper aims to explore the evolving trends in the application of IoT for low carbon solutions through an extensive review of pertinent literature. The methodology entails a thorough analysis of the published works using metrics such as publication year, authorship, citations and authors’ affiliations. Additionally, utilizing bibliometric analysis of Scopus database, the paper explores keyword co-occurrence patterns using VoSviewer. The findings underscore the important role on IoT for low carbon solutions, delineate notable contributions of key researchers, and offer valuable insights for various stakeholders engaged in researching and implementing IoT-driven approaches for reduction of carbon emissions.
