Abstract
The present study explores barriers to posttraumatic growth (PTG) using a three-stage mixed-method approach. In-depth interviews with professionals identified key barriers, including "Lack of Supportive Environment," "Recurrent Exposure to Trauma," and "Stigma and Shame." Sub-barriers like "Absence of Family Support," "Re-victimization," and "Trauma Triggers" were also highlighted. The Best-Worst Method assessed their relative importance, with sensitivity analysis confirming the findings. This research offers valuable insights for practitioners and policymakers to develop interventions addressing PTG barriers, uniquely incorporating professionals’ perspectives on these challenges. Practitioners and policymakers must develop community programs and interventions addressing the identified barriers, ensuring holistic and survivor-centered care.
