Blockchain technology is one of the building blocks of smart technologies that are finding their way in different industries across the globe. Blockchain is believed to revolutionize the way businesses are conducted today. The major reason for the lack of penetration of emerging technologies like blockchain in the industries whose core competencies are not technology development or usage, for example manufacturing, is lack of awareness and knowledge about the blockchain. This study aims to provide an initial standpoint to the practitioners of the manufacturing industry to make informed decisions and better strategies for blockchain implementation. This study employs DEMATEL technique to analyze the crucial IT artifacts of blockchain technology that will help make various manufacturing processes efficient and sustainable. The role of blockchain technology in Industry 4.0 is also discussed. The study concluded with the grouping of chosen Blockchain IT Artifacts being classified into two groups: "Cause" and "Effect". After analyzing the responses, it has been observed that out of the 12 IT artifacts, 6 were classified as "Cause" and the remaining 6 were classified as "Effect."
