The rapid digitization of healthcare data has raised critical concerns about privacy and security. While technologies like telemedicine and AI offer numerous benefits, they also expose sensitive patient information to potential risks. This chapter examines the challenges and opportunities in protecting healthcare data while promoting technological advancements and patient empowerment. It analyses privacy laws across different jurisdictions and highlights the need for a global dialogue on developing standardized privacy regimes that safeguard individual rights and enable the responsible use of technology in healthcare. Harmonizing regional regulations is crucial to balance privacy with the needs of modern healthcare, ensuring patient trust and technological advancement. By addressing legal uncertainties, strengthening enforcement, and promoting ethical innovation, there can be created a future where digital health technologies benefit patients without compromising their privacy.
