Abstract

The ceasefire agreed to by Israel and Hamas and brokered by the Donald Trump-led United States (US) administration has been broken. Israel has predictably resumed bombing Gaza, killing hundreds and taking the total number of deaths to more than 50,000 since the attacks on Gaza began. The destruction of schools, hospitals, universities, and residences, and the targeting of doctors, teachers, and journalists—with 208 killed so far—continues. In concert, the US is bombing Yemen in retribution for the Houthis’ (Ansar Allah) support of Gaza and the blockade of the Red Sea. Israeli Defense Forces continue to attack Lebanese villages along the Israeli border, with Israel expanding into parts of Syria. Iran has been receiving sustained threats from the US–Israel leadership. Clearly, Israel is taking the next steps in its grand plan of expanding its territorial control, borders, and occupation with a green signal from the US. Anyone who opposes them will be silenced.
