This chapter provides a brief overview of digital financial inclusion for marginalised and vulnerable populations, particularly women. The focus is to understand the existing status and how digital financial inclusion for women is critical for achieving gender parity, their empowerment and vis a vis gender equality. The chapter will assess the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY) that claims to promote financial inclusion via a vis promoting gender equality by extending and expanding affordable access to financial services such as bank accounts, remittances, credit, insurance and pensions. The framework of intersectionality is used for theorising digital financial inclusion and its implications on marginalised and vulnerable sections of society, followed by policy recommendations.
