Abstract

Fruit are naturally delicate product and produce a significant biowaste from 30% to 60% of their weight which accumulate 110 Mt waste per year. Being a rich source of bioactive compounds, including polyphenols, flavonoids, and dietary fibres hold great potential for producing high-value products. Advanced extraction techniques facilitate the recovery rate up to 70%–85% by converting the waste into natural antioxidants, dietary fibers, and biodegradable packaging resources. It is having a value for the agro-food sector and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs). This review depicts the role of fruit biowaste role in developing a circular economy, optimization of resource efficiency, and declining the environmental stress in agro-food sector. This review explores advanced methods for extracting the product from the fruit biowaste. These advances reflects the prospective in nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industries for the development of functional foods using raw materials. Moreover we have aslso disuccsed the of fruit biowaste in agriculture as feed as well as source of manure. These progresses bring into line with the fundamental values of a circular economy and promote ecofriendly approaches in various industries.
