Abstract

On November 14, during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Sudhanshu Trivedi, a Member of Parliament from the Rajya Sabha, addressed the Special Political and Decolonization Committee (Fourth Committee) in New York. Representing the Indian delegation, Trivedi refuted Pakistan’s claims on the Kashmir issue, reiterating that Jammu and Kashmir “was, is, and will remain an integral part of India." Highlighting recent democratic developments, he stated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir had exercised their electoral rights and elected a new government. In this context, he urged Pakistan to cease spreading falsehoods, as these would not alter the facts on the ground.
