Abstract
The even division of seats between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Indian National Congress in the general election results of 2024 indicates a clear bipolar contest between the two parties in the assembly elections. The BJP’s inability to maintain its performance can be attributed to its failure to consolidate support from across castes and the growing disaffection with its policies in the state. But it remains to be seen whether this will be reflected in the assembly election results.
