The use of analytics in sport provides valuable insights to manage sport performance and strategies. This study provides a comprehensive overview of sports analytics in soccer using bibliometric analysis. We draw thematic structure of sports analytics in soccer from 2012 to 2023 by doing performance mapping, knowledge mapping, and co-occurrence mapping, thematic cluster analysis of 142 academic journal articles using R and VOS viewer tools. Our research identified key trends and themes in the literature. The sports analytics in soccer research showed the changes in the methods to analyse data, including advanced statistical techniques, machine learning, and deep learning applications. The use of sports analytics focuses on individual and team performances and improving game techniques. This research also analysed the network by identifying leading authors, institutes, publications, keywords, and themes in sports analytics in soccer sports research. These insights can help the researchers, practitioners, and policymakers with insights into how sports analytics in soccer can be used and provide future directions on the sports analytics and its applications.
