Abstract
Upanishads, the ancient texts, is widely believed to have influenced the revolutionary minds that theorised quantum mechanics in the twentieth century. The writer says these minds sought theoretical alliances with the Upanishads, also known as Vedanta, or the 'cutting edge' of the Vedas. He adds that their truck with the Upanishads is seen with suspicion by many. The ancient texts also sow the seeds of radical dissent against all forms of social rigidity, divisive identitarian politics, inequitable hierarchies, and traditionally sanctioned injustices that, oftentimes, carry on even in the name of religion and religious freedom, he argues.
