Abstract
Contemporary diplomatic endeavors are not restricted to diplomats. Museums and their exhibits are new players in the diplomatic arena. As visual repositories of culture, history, and heritage, museums have the potential to strengthen social and cultural collaborations across nation-states. In this regard, museums can serve as conduits of alternate kinds of diplomacy —wherein states can expect to mobilize their cultural assets to cast a positive influence on others and foreign publics.
