Abstract
This chapter explores existing theoretical debates on anthropocentrism, intrinsic value theory, and Deep Ecology to establish that human beings need to rethink their relationship with the environment in order to take environmental issues seriously. It argues that the relationship of domination and exploitation with the environment should be replaced with a relationship of care.
