This chapter provides a conclusion comment on the current developments of India regarding the adoption of frontier digital technologies. India, though it is successful in providing Information Technology (IT) services to the world, still lags in the breakthrough research in technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI). Countries like India are said to be in the mid-rung of the technology ladder and would be dependent on the technology leaders like the US and China. One of the best ways to adopt revolutionary changes offered by frontier digital technologies is to invest in deterrence capacity maximisation and develop non-lethal capacities. Of all the frontier technologies, AI is expected to bring a quick change to military operations. Human-machine collaboration, a networked command centre, and body-mounted sensors are noted to be the immediate advancements. Though India realised the importance of cyberspace in security, it has not developed a cyber security strategy. This chapter asserts that a robust cyber security strategy requires a comprehensive future blueprint to look into the synergies between the civil and defence sectors for better support for the systems and preparedness against large-scale cyber-attacks launched by state-sponsored groups.
