Abstract
The book pivots the asylum narrative in the United States (US) by putting forth real-life stories to make two main points: first, the failings of the legal system in providing a thorough, fair, and systematic, evidence-based asylum application process. Second, the contribution an expert can make in courts through investigations and testimonies on questions of race, culture, and hence, identities of the asylum applicants
