Abstract
The plot of the film Sui Dhaaga: Made in India (2018), directed by Sharat Katariya, revolves around the lives
of Mauji (Varun Dhawan) and his wife Mamta (Anushka Sharma). Mauji works as a tailor at a local store. He is not treated well by his boss, is often humiliated and even paid money to entertain guests by acting like a dog at his son’s wedding. His impoverished condition makes him ignore the humiliation. Mamta persuades Mauji to leave his undignified job and set up his own tailoring stall on the roadside in the local marketplace. Mauji, with Mamta’s support, pursues his passion (stitching and altering garments), refusing to change his line of work despite attempts by his father and brother to persuade him to give up his uncertain business venture.
