Abstract
The chapter showcases some key circular economy innovations in India and the European Union. The chapter is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on three illustrative case studies of circular economy start-ups in India located across different lifecycles with commonality of the use of digital means as tools in their operations and platforms, their journey and learnings as circular economy innovators, and lessons on what elements are needed for the development of an enabling and empowering circular economy ecosystem. The second part focuses on digitalisation as an enabler of the circular economy in Europe. It provides various examples across different lifecycle stages and highlights the need for an enabling policy framework of action on the circular economy and digitalisation.
