Abstract

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) shall be implemented from July 2022 onwards. It will allow students to participate in the admission process of central universities of India. Till now, students got admission to the universities on the basis of the marks obtained in Class 12 board examinations. However, this will change post July 2022 as CUET will be an objective test with no weightage being given to board examinations. Thus, we see two distinct systems emerging in the same domain. Since the admission of the student would depend on the common entrance examination, the seriousness of the student regarding school education would become an issue—do I study hard for the school
