This paper examines the central role of Web-data Scrapping and the threshold of the ‘Data Protection’ requirement; in the administration of Personal Data Protection Law. The Internet is saturated with a vast assortment of products and services. These online goods and services, which constitute the business's mainstay, are protected products/content that are designated as intellectual property and are protected by Intellectual Property laws through copyright, trademark, design, etc. Consequently, the protection of the intellectual property rights over these goods and services is of great importance to these businesses due to the substantial investments made in the production and marketing of these products and services, where profits are often not realised until after they have been sold through authorised channels of distribution. With the lowering of global market barriers and the increase in cutthroat competition among businesses, it is now more important than ever for businesses that rely on data and data analysis to develop extraordinary and eccentric business strategies in order to excel in their respective industries, as the data or statistics collected serve as the basis for communicating any administrative, management, or other business-related decision.
