Abstract
A social setup within a particular political boundary, connected by common history and a cluster of traditions gives tints to the State’s or the community’s foundational moral values. The fundamentals that dictate the functioning of a society range from its historical and anthropological roots to contemporary social, economic, and political determinants. There are also present a number of heterogeneous groups of a wide spectrum of cultural identities, beliefs and lifestyles, further divided on the basis of their economic standing in the social ladder, which is an attribute of the inequal distribution of power, resources and other equitable factors. These different layers of differential aspects, further affected by the contemporary economic structures and implementation of the policies aimed at upliftment of the masses as a whole further bring in multiple tints to the overall picture of a heterogeneous society, as that of India.
