Abstract
The authors discuss the rich network of coastal ecosystems that India has, and the successful conservation strategies implemented by our nation for such ecosystems. However, this has not found its way within the Indian NDCs as Blue Carbon (BC) strategies. As more countries in the Asia-Pacific as well as globally continue to include BC strategies in their climate change policies, India must leverage the existing opportunities, explore strategies, tap new avenues to implement and boost its BC policies under the Paris Agreement.
