Abstract

The chapter narrates the nationalist thought of Partha Chatterjee. The nationalist school of Indian historiography predicates the Indian freedom movement upon the mobilizing activity and nationalist initiative of the educated bourgeoisie in late nineteenth and early twentieth century in India. This bourgeoisie comprises of individuals from rural and urban backgrounds unevenly.
