Abstract
The private sector has been gradually recognized as being an instrumental factor for the achievement of all three main agenda of the United Nations –peace and security, economic and social development, and human rights. Among the three, the most natural one for the private sector to contribute is the second UNagenda; in fact, the economic development cannot be even imagined without the role of private companies, being these local or multinational, small, medium, or big.
