Abstract
India confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on 30th January 2020, on the same day that the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared it a public health emergency of international concern. According to the most recent data, there are currently a total number of 11.5 million cases in India, with over 159,000 deaths. In an attempt to combat the pandemic, the Government of India announced a nationwide lockdown in an attempt to curb the impact of COVID-19 after a period of almost two months from the first case, i.e. starting on 25th March 2020. This lockdown was implemented without providing adequate time and resources for citizens to prepare for it, thereby rendering them vulnerable.
