Across the globe, universities and the state of academia have become common topics in news media. Journalists are tracking how politics and economics are making and re-making student-led activism and the universities’ response to it; interrogating the role of the university in shaping citizens and workers; critiquing the university as a place of work and learning, and charting the tensions that these confluences produce.
