Abstract
The current thesis aimed to examine the effect of mental training interventions on coping skills, motivation level and well-being of Target sport athletes (i.e. shooters and archers). At theoretical level, the thesis synthesised three existing theories proposed by Iso-Ahola (1995), Vealey (2007) and Lundqvist (2011). The proposed model comprehensively addresses the different constructs that positively impact athletes’ well-being. Research studies have stated that inferior quality of life reduces sport satisfaction, impedes in personal development and athletic performance (Wrisberg,1996). However, Fredrickson (2005) states that overall well-being of an athlete can be positively enhanced by integrating mental training interventions into physical training sessions. Lundqvist (2011) stated that researchers need to identify sports- related dimensions of well-being to stimulate development of well-being models and concepts in context of sports psychology
