Abstract

This chapter addresses the contextualized interaction between entrepreneur leadership and participatory governance moderated by change oriented organizational culture over the Ethiopian context. The study with the sample size of 394 respondents uses a quantitative methodology to evaluate the dynamics of these variables. The results indicate that leadership of the entrepreneur greatly affects the participatory governance because it leads to a change-oriented organizational culture. This culture which is flexible, innovative and involves employee interaction takes on a mediating role of improving practices of governance. The chapter makes a contribution towards understanding of the influence of leadership style in governing. It underlines the need to develop an organizational culture that will have embraced change towards enhancing participatory governance. The implication of these findings implies that the leaders of organizations must focus more on entrepreneurial leadership and cultural transformation to realize effective governance.
