Abstract

The article critically examines recent data on women’s representation in arbitral appointments, highlighting the persistence of underrepresentation despite widely publicised diversity pledges. It argues that gender diversity is not merely aspirational but essential to the legitimacy of arbitration, the quality of decision-making, and public trust in dispute resolution systems.
