This article attempts to critically analyse the effects of pornography on the society and the laws that regulate it—especially Indian laws. It uses both primary and secondary sources and attempts to answer questions like what does Indian law say about the legality of pornography? Does pornography instigate crimes of sexual violence? How does the society perceive pornography? Is there an “attitude” problem? Lastly, the article attempts to compare Indian laws with Western laws concerning the constitutionality of pornography and its subsequent consequences.
