Abstract
In criminal justice systems, the admission of forensic evidence is a critical factor that impacts the eficiency of court cases and the pursuit of justice. The frameworks and criteria that control the admission of forensic evidence in Nigeria and India are examined in this comparative study. With their distinct legal customs and sociocultural histories, these two countries offer a wealth of opportunities to investigate the incorporation of forensic evidence into their legal frameworks. The first section of the study looks at how forensic evidence laws have historically evolved in both nations, highlighting the influence of colonial history and later legislative changes. lt then delves into the legislative and judicial standards that determine what is admissible evidence, comparing the legal statutes and case law that influence forensic practices in various Jurisdictions. This study explores a number of important areus, including she role and qualifications of expert witneses, the procedures for maintaining the chain of custody, and the views of judges about forensic evidence. Through an analysis of prominent court deisions and legal perspecives, this study illuminates the practical challenges and successes that arise when ustng forensc evidene in criminal trials.
