Abstract

While artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to drive significant advancements, it also raises critical ethical questions that require input from various stakeholders, including philosophers, technologists, and everyday users. Such a collaborative approach is considered essential in addressing the challenges posed by AI, as its impact is not uniform across different cultural and socio-economic contexts. To this end the editors of this volume convened global conversations with informed stakeholders on broad issues related to AI ethics and societal well-being. A summary of the key ideas, including the need to go beyond the role of AI in increasing GDP per capita growth while addressing the maintenance of cultural pluralism in AI ethical standards, are presented in this chapter.
