Abstract

The field of women’s Studies has emerged as a significant realm of academic inquiry that offers an interdisciplinary forum for the study. The field provides a much needed critical and analytical perspective on currently accepted theories and mode of explorations in the social sciences. By interpreting these theories through gendered lens, Women Studies as a discipline encourages research and scholarship that focuses on women’s lives experiences. Women Studies has thus radically transformed traditional areas of study by adding perceptions, contributions and experiences of women into the existing body of knowledge students to the exciting field of Women Studies by simplifying and consolidating some of its key concepts and theories
