Abstract

The issue of cross-border capital allocation has been one of the key issues in international finance, which has influenced the dynamics of global investment, economic integration, and financial stability. Such allocation decisions were historically guided by proven principles such as expected returns, risk diversification, interest rate differentials, and macroeconomic fundamentals. Systematic financial reporting, past performance indicators and econometric models were used to make decisions by investors on the optimal allocation across geographies. However, the contemporary world order has transformed significantly, and it is marked by increasingly complex, vague, and tech-changing.
