Abstract
Financial technology (FinTech) meets sustainability is one of the most promising trends in the world of fighting climate change. With the ever-increasing environmental concerns and the need to change quickly to a low-carbon economy, the traditional financial systems are being challenged to develop. FinTech has in this regard come out as a disruptive player that can transform the manner in which capital is raised, distributed and tracked with respect to the sustainable development agenda. Green credit, which refers to financial products and lending systems that focus on the environmentally friendly activities, has been given increased visibility in the developed and emerging economies. Governments, financial institutions, and international institutions are realizing that climate mitigation and adaptation need enormous investments, which can hardly be financed by the public fund.
