Abstract
A mutual defence agreement signed in September 2025 by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh left non-proliferation officials around the world confused. The agreement stated that any aggression towards either country would be considered an aggression towards both countries.
