Abstract

Organisational change management is increasingly recognised as a critical driver in building institutions that are both inclusive and sustainable. This chapter examines the theoretical and practical dimensions of managing change within organisations striving to embed equity, diversity, and long-term environmental and social responsibility into their core operations. Drawing on contemporary scholarship, the chapter argues that successful change is not merely structural but deeply cultural, requiring transformational leadership, stakeholder engagement, and adaptive capacity. It explores models of change management—including Kotter's eight-step model, Lewin's framework, and the ADKAR model—through the lens of inclusivity and sustainability. The chapter further addresses barriers to inclusive change and proposes evidence-based strategies for overcoming resistance. By integrating principles of social justice, ecological stewardship, and organisational resilience, the chapter offers a comprehensive roadmap for institutional transformation in the twenty-first century.
