Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming legal writing and drafting, redefining the skills required for contemporary legal practice. AI tools, including natural language processing and generative systems, enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in document creation, while also supporting legal research, contract analysis, and quality control. These technological advancements present opportunities for improved client service, greater access to justice, and innovative practice models. However, they also raise challenges related to ethical responsibility, data privacy, algorithmic bias, and regulatory compliance. This chapter examines the evolution of legal drafting, highlights AI applications and their benefits, and identifies the hybrid skill set necessary for the next generation of lawyers, including digital literacy, critical oversight, and ethical judgment. Finally, it explores the implications for legal education, professional training, and future practice, emphasizing a collaborative model where human expertise complements AI capabilities.
