The United Nations has been a global actor in regulating various aspects of international affairs over the years, and the domain of global business is one such area. This chapter is fundamentally divided into nine segments and makes a comprehensive attempt to analyse the role of the United Nations in regulating the global business. Additionally, the UN Global Compact encourages corporations to adopt socially responsible and environmentally aligned business practices, thereby ensuring the integration of sustainability into corporate governance. By way of frameworks like the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the UN provides a comprehensive vision that aligns global business activities with the aspect of human welfare, ensuring inclusive economic growth and reducing inequalities. However, challenges exist in enforcing compliance and balancing economic interests with ethical practices and goals. Conclusively, the UN's role in global business is of dual nature: regulatory and collaborative, driving international commerce and finance within a system that aspires towards fairness, accountability and sustainability in the global marketplace.
