Abstract

“The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a landmark achievement of the UN. It was arrived at after following a bottoms-up model of negotiations involving all countries, big and small, rich and poor. The latest report of the UN Secretary General makes sad reading with him describing the world as being seriously off track on the issue of SDGs. It is for this reason that this chapter recommends a global summit on SDGs to provide political momentum and financial filip to the full and unconditional achievement of SDGs. There is a moral and legal imperative to do this. The moral compass of the world is at stake.”
