Abstract
This study examines the factors influencing the intention to use an Agentic AI Career Coach within the Omani banking sector. Based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the research examines the direct effects of Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) on behavioral intention and explores the moderating role of Ethical Concerns (EC) representing by distrust. Using a quantitative approach, data was collected from 261 banking employees and analyzed via Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The study findings offer high support for the core TAM constructs, revealing that both PU and PEOU are significant and positive predictors of use intention. However, the hypothesized moderating effects of Ethical Concerns on the relationships among PU/PEOU and intention to use were not accepted. This suggests that while employees value the system’s utility and usability, ethical considerations regarding distrust, in this specific advisory and high-trust context, do not critically influence their decision to adopt the technology. The study concludes that successful implementation of Agentic AI in the Omani banking sector should prioritize demonstrating tangible career benefits and ensuring a seamless user experience.
