Abstract

The study centers around the rising trends of hatred toward particular communities bolstered by conniving governments giving a fillip to extreme right-wing terrorism and propaganda. The divide between communities is deep and pervasive and can be traced to racist attitudes where historically there has been segregation, based on origin, culture and advantage. It had been the manifesto of the Bharatiya Janata Party to digitalize India, but it was a camouflage for promoting Hindutva through use of the internet and smart phones. With the Government looking the other way, extreme right ‘saffronists’ began to spew venom on the minorities by use of artificial intelligence to ridicule and discredit the Muslim populace keeping well within the limits of freedom of speech though violence is encouraged. The West, especially USA, became the target of extremist Muslim groups like Al Quada. These provided the casus belli for the creation of Extreme Right Wing, Alt Right. In the USA, artificial intelligence has been used by the Alt Right for organizing programmes of hatred and extremism without abatement. The right to freedom of speech allows uncurbed rights of expression even if it encourages violence and extremism. Monitoring and censoring artificially created content on the internet are a mammoth task which suffers owing to various factors including bias and imprecise classification of data.
